Penny Pinching

for Your Family and Your Community

Resale Centers carry a variety of items including casual and professional clothing and are a great way to both save money and support your community.
Now more than ever, we are looking for those little extra ways to pinch pennies. We’re eating out less, staying home instead of taking that annual vacation and postponing large purchases. We’re trying to be more conscious about where our money goes.

One way to save, as well as help others in need, is to shop at resale centers. Many non-profits, especially those benefiting women and children, have storefronts where they offer gently used, donated goods to the public at low prices. The proceeds benefit the organizations and allow them to continue their mission of service.

PennyWise Resale Centers are an example of resale shops that not only offer donated goods for sale to the public, but they offer free clothing, furniture and other household items to their clients. PennyWise Resale Centers benefit the Fort Bend County Women’s Center, Inc. whose mission is to assist survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children to achieve safety and self-sufficiency, while striving to prevent violence against women.

Like many resale stores, PennyWise carries a variety of items including clothing for men, women and children, shoes, household items, appliances, furniture, automobiles and telephones. Most resale centers affiliated with non-profits offer complimentary pick-up to donors.

There are three PennyWise locations in Fort Bend County, and they offer a 25% discount to seniors every Wednesday. So the next time, you’re heading out to the mall to do some shopping, think thrifty. Visit a resale center and help support your community.
